April Jobs Reports: Private employers added 192K jobs in April, per the ADP National Employment Report. “Hiring was broad-based in April. Only the information sector — telecommunications, media, and information technology — showed weakness, posting job losses and the smallest pace of pay gains since August 2021,” per Nela Richardson, ADP Chief Economist. While the BLS reported that unemployment ticked up to 3.9%, it’s critical to bear in mind that this represents historically low rates of unemployment, and where the rate essentially stood in January 2019.
