I N T R O D U C I N G . . .  The Swallowing Wellness Center - a world-class outpatient facility providing care for people with swallowing disorders. The flagship location will open during the Summer of 2024 in Washington, DC. 

 CLINICAL SERVICES: We are an innovative, state-of-the art facility with a comprehensive and innovative approach to diagnosing and treating swallowing disorders. Our mission is simple - to provide extraordinary care for people with swallowing impairments (dysphagia). PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION: The Humbert Swallowing Training Program (HSTP) is an innovative educational program designed to address the limitations of current education and training for professionals managing swallowing disorders (dysphagia). By partnering with @stepcommunity, it offers a diverse range of educational experiences, both virtual and in-person (including swallowing residencies) that are intensive, accelerated, and clinically relevant. COMMUNITY SUPPORT: Swallowing is a daily function that can be taken for granted. Although 15 million people in the United States suffer from swallowing disorders, many do so in silence with little information, support or advocacy. #siemens were excellent hosts to the Swallowing Wellness Center and they understood our mission to improve lives - one swallow at a time. We test drove their best c-arm option for swallow studies and they gave us the floor to describe the plight of the #medicalslp and our patients in the #hospital and #nursinghome settings. #milwaukee was chilly but these @siemens reps were warm and friendly. General Electric flew The Swallowing Wellness Center out to their headquarters to ‘kick the tires’ of their C-Arm equipment. The factory, service, and equipment options are top tier! This was a great way to spread awareness about #speechpathology and #dysphagia while securing industry partners to address our profession’s imaging and radiology needs! #swallowingwellness is building alliances to ensure that instrumental assessments are available to patients with #swallowingdisorders within the very first visit!
