We Are . . . The Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce
 Debbie Brodsky- DMB Pictures
"The Bethesda Chamber has been incredibly valuable to my business. Over the past seven years that I have been a member, I have increased my network exponentially, and have gained connections that have supported and grown my business, both with new client business, new ideas, and business resources and support. Though I’m involved in a variety of networking groups, this is the largest and most diverse and has exposed me to a wide variety of organizations and business people, who have become friends. If you want to grow your business and connections in the Bethesda metro region, I highly recommend you not only become a member of the Bethesda Chamber, but get actively involved on committees and attending events. You will not be disappointed!"
Andrew (Andy) Fraser, Principal- Sandglass Systems
"The Chamber is a phenomenal organization.  We joined in 1998 & were immediately impressed with Anne Core (President).  In 2001 Ginanne became President.  Ginanne is a pleasure to work with & a strong leader. The Chamber is a conduit to the government, non-profit & business community of Montgomery County & the DC Metro area.  When Annapolis targeted the tech community with a service tax, the Chamber helped organize our response & the tax was overturned."
Bonnie Fogel, Founder and Executive Director- Imagination Stage
I am Bonnie Fogel, Founder and Executive Director of Imagination Stage a non-profit children’s theatre and arts education center located in Bethesda on Auburn Avenue.  We have been Chamber Members since 1993 and we have always appreciated the opportunities membership has afforded us. In the early days, our Board was almost entirely comprised of Chamber members and today we still count Chamber members among our board and committee members and past presidents. Recently, GBCC has been especially great about sharing news of our shows and events via Chamber Watch and we have also gained exposure by hosting a Chamber Event at Imagination Stage this season."

Hill Slowinski, Realtor (MD, DC, VA)- W.C. & A.N Miller Realtors, Christie's International Real Estate

"I joined the Chamber to learn first-hand and early the impact on the vibrant residential real estate market of zoning and development plans.  Getting involved in the Chamber’s activities provided huge benefits to me.  The Economic Development and Real Estate Committees became major resources for information as are the other networking events, special meetings, and annual major gatherings hosted by the Chamber.

The Chamber staff seem to have boundless energy and capacity for helping Greater Bethesda area business in all manner of issues.  Its advocacy program is second to none, and the quality of its member leaders and Chamber executives is outstanding.

Having assumed a leadership role in the Chamber and in support of our community, I have developed many new friendships, and my business and effectiveness for my clients have greatly expanded."

Melanie Folstad, Senior Vice President- RBC Wealth Management
From the day I joined, The Greater Bethesda Chamber showed a genuine interest in helping me get established in the community.  The programs, committee meetings and networking events offer a myriad of opportunities for me to stay on top of what is happening in the local area as well as being with the people who share a commitment to a thriving Bethesda.   Being involved with the Chamber is easily one of the best professional and personal decisions I have made."

Paula Rothenberg, President & CEO- Hope Connections for Cancer Support

"We joined the Chamber when we opened our doors in Bethesda as a way to get to know the local business community and to build awareness of our organization. I quickly found that this Chamber does much more than just provide networking opportunities. The Chamber is an invaluable advocate for business, representing all of us at the state and local level on important issues related to business development, stabilization and growth. The Chamber also regularly solicits input from its members and designs insightful programs to motivate, inform and educate its members. The Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce is a proactive organization with great leadership. It has our best interests at heart. I am proud to serve on its Board of Directors!"

Randy Schools, Past President, and Advisor- NIH-NOAA Recreation and Welfare Association
"We have been members of the Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce for over thirty-five years.   The chamber builds community, and with that comes leadership for you and your company.    Membership allows you to have an insider’s view of various state and county laws which affect the growth of your business, allows you to know who to lobby, and to educate yourself on which side of the issue benefits you the most.    It is a place where as a member you can find mentors to assist you with your career growth, as well as ways to develop friendships. To me your career is a journey, one which you to set goals, learn responsibly, and as you gain expertise, you give back.    The chamber is a place to move the Bethesda community forward, and educate yourself on the beauty of lifelong friendships.    Oh--- and I almost forgot, it's FUN!!"

Suzanne Kim D.D.S. and EagleBank
Suzanne H. Kim, D.D.S. attended several networking events upon joining the Chamber and she was constantly being told how everyone “loved” EagleBank.  Great timing, as the bank Dr. Kim was doing business with was about to merge with a large regional bank.
She transferred her business to EagleBank after meeting, Tom Murphy and Kai Hills.  They, as do all of the other employees, exemplified the personal and professional relationship that she was looking for from a bank.

During Tom Murphy’s Chamber presidency, he would often joke about breaking a tooth or having a tooth ache!  After actually breaking a tooth, it was not longer a joking matter.  Tom’s dental dilemma was soon remedied by Dr. Kim.  Not too long after that, Tom’s wife and son became patients and he continually refers patients to her from the bank.
Connie Rhind Robey, Executive Vice President of Marketing- SpeedPro Imaging
"Joining the Bethesda Chamber was one of the first things we did when we started our business. It has been an excellent decision for us and for our business-SpeedPro Imaging. Our membership in the Chamber has helped us develop relationships with business leaders in the area. We have always been active members of the Chamber, serving on committees and attending events each year. Our employees have benefitted by being involved in NextExecs and we have all benefitted by taking advantage of the Member-to-Member discounts. And we have learned of a number of great companies through that program as well. Being part of the Bethesda Chamber has been a terrific advantage for us."

Chamber membership has its rewards.  You can always count on the Chamber for finding a particular service.  Chamber membership = reliability and credibility in the business community.
