Came here for a healthy & delicious lunch! This location is inside Westfield's Montgomery Mall & they were busy.

Immediately, we were greeted by Leanne who exuded happiness & she ensured we knew the drill, and we did being big UP fans, but it was so nice to have the assistance offered to us just in case.

Food came out promptly and was perfectly delicious! The portions are generous but so healthy that you leave feeling super satisfied yet not stuffed or guilty about what you ate.

We got the Cage-free Grilled Chicken Sandwich & Wild Ahi Tuna Niçoise Salad. The sandwich had a delicious orange basil aioli that was fantastic & the salad had a mustard caper vinaigrette that was tossed to perfection & not overly dressed.

Melvin was at the cash register and made the end of our ordering experience just as wonderful as the beginning.

We will be back soon - probably to the Tyson's location because it's closer to home - but we will be back!

Absolutely delicious, well-seasoned, perfect food! I'm not a vegetarian, but I wanted to try the Beets + Avocado Plant Based Bowl. It's filled with avocados, beets, onions, walnuts, and quinoa. Each of these is individually seasoned perfectly! The bowl was so healthy, filling, and great for its price.

This particular location is very clean, has many open tables, and is pretty quiet! The natural sunlight coming in from the large open windows gives it a nice ambiance during lunch time! Also, I've done take out from here, and they package it super quickly and the food stays warm until you get home!

Man, Urban Plates NEVER disappoints me. I've ordered most things on the menu at least once now and I can confidently say I always enjoy whatever I order. As someone who is a little obsessed with as much clean eating as possible, I seriously love Urban Plates (minus the desserts, I don't personally order their desserts). I would eat here for every meal if I could but itd be way too expensive which is the downside, Urban Plates can be very pricey.

Yesterday was my first time at the Montgomery Mall location, I have frequented the Columbia one. I ordered an unattractive looking chimichurri chicken dish (see photo) but I promise it was better than it looked. They used chicken thighs on a huge bed of quinoa and broccolini, and it came with a kale pesto chimichurri which got soaked up by all the quinoa and it was delicious. The pesto was oily but it was okay, hopefully it was 100% olive oil and they gave so much quinoa it actually tasted so yummy altogether. Given how expensive some of their dishes are I ordered this one off of their $10 daily menu which I applaud them for having, but wish there was a little more flexibility in their sides being interchangeable and more options on their $10 menu.

      I live for Urban Plates!!

This was my first time here. I didn't know what to order. The staff gave me some suggestions.
I ordered the Chimichurri Grass Fed Steak. It was cooked perfectly the way I like it. My only disappointment was that I didn't see any chimichurri sauce. For the two sides, I picked Rainbow Carrots & Golden Beets and Green Beans & Red Chili Mushrooms. The carrots abd beets side was delicious. The green beans and mushrooms side was a little too sour for me.
There was just too many choices. I think I would go for a salad next.

UPDATE: the manager reached out and apologized for leaving out the sauce. With that extra care from the place, I updated from 4 stars to 5 stars.

Urban plates is 100% underrated. They have amazingly fresh food with a customer service model that revivals many fancy sit down restaurants.

      Food I love here:
Mixed beet salad- get it dressed, it adds to the experience and it's so so tasty.

Roasted brussel sprouts and carrots- perfectly roasted and a good combo.

Roasted chicken- very juicy and a good serving that will not allow you to feel like a gluttonous pig!

Beets with goat cheese. (Clearly I love beets)

In general I dont think you can go wrong here.

Healthy, hearty, wholesome, freshly made and delicious! What more could you ask for? I came here with my son after work, and was unsure of what to expect. This restaurant doesn't have full service waitstaff, but the servers behind the counter are very attentive. As you enter you'll enter a line that is more cafeteria style but the food is not the ordinary kind you'd find in a cafeteria!!

We were both pleasantly surprised to see a variety of delicious menu options. If you go with a main entree (as opposed to a bowl or salad) you can choose from a variety of side dishes ranging from healthy (like root vegetables and brussel sprouts) to comfort food (like mashed potatoes, mac and cheese). It was hard to choose! I was happy with my choice of beef with mushrooms, and I opted for brown rice instead of mashed potatoes. The beef was very tender yet not fatty. My son ordered the chimichurri steak with sides of brussel sprouts and root vegetables.

The desserts are made on site and they are to die for!

My son and I highly recommend you dine here. It's a charming place to have a meal with family and friends.

I've been a fan of Urban Plates since my office got catering from the Tyson's location, and this location did not disappoint. I came here twice in September and October 2019, the 1st time with my mother and the 2nd time with a friend. Both times I ate in.

When I came with my mother, it was a Saturday around 11:30. The place was pretty empty and we dawdled around the salad line for a minute or two before we figured out we could just jump to the plates line, as that's what we were both getting. My mom got the salmon plate with a side of Brussels sprouts and carrots with beets. I got the 4 up with Brussels sprouts, carrots with beets, sesame broccolini, and white beans with collard greens. The portions were pretty big; I was stuffed after having mine and my mom took half of hers home as leftovers.y favorite sides were the carrots & beets and the sesame broccolini. But the white beans (I believe these were seasonal) were really flavorful and paired well with the bread. I also had a bit of my mom's salmon, and it was fresh and tasty.

The second time I came on a Friday evening around 6 to grab dinner with a friend. It was busier this time, and there was a staff member directing people to the different lines. My friend had never tried Urban Plates before and he was happy to help her decide what to order. She wound up getting a portobello mushroom sandwich, which came with a side of homemade chips. She said the portobellos were super flavorful and she loved the sandwich, but she could take or leave the chips.

I got another 4 up but decided to go vegan this time, getting the carrots/beets and broccolini again, and then also ordering roasted potatoes and white rice. I think other than brown rice, these were probably all the vegan hot sides they offered, and I felt it was a nice variety. My food took longer since the plates line was longer than the sandwich line and there was a minute-delay with the mac & cheese.

The restaurant was clean both times I came, and the staff were friendly and attentive. If you have your food to stay, you can leave your tray and dishes to be bussed; both times this happened really quickly. There's a self-serve station for the complimentary water (plastic cups). There's also 2 stalls in the ladies' room and it was reasonably clean in there when I used it on Friday evening.

I still have no idea what kind of restaurant this is, but I SUPER enjoyed my experience here. The area was nice, clean, and had a touch of classy in it.
To me, this place felt gery homely. The food was fresh and delicious, but it wasn't like extremely well crafted. It was a nice, warm and comfortable meal-- kind of like comfort food. The food was good though, and I would definitely go again!! I must come here every time I go to the mall now LOL
When I we first walked in, to be honest I didn't understand how to order. You go down a line and order (similar to Chipotle) but I thought it was a sit down restaurant where someone takes your order. An older/elderly man helped us out immediately and made us feel very comfortable+answered all our questions! I really appreciated that.

      I HIGHLY recommend:
      - the brussel sprouts
      - the corn on the cob!!!!

Can't wait to come here again and try new things on the menu!

COVID review: Urban Plates is part of our favorite Friday night tradition of ordering out.

We have always found the portion size to be right on the mark. Each dish we order is well-expressed in terms of flavor distinctiveness, ingredient quality, and diligence in preparation.

Another thing we appreciate is that the food does not appear to be overly salty (we have to eat a lower sodium diet and some take out food really blows your BP through the roof with sodium).

Favorites in our house are the marinated beets with goat cheese. Also the Moroccan Chicken Braise is practically a mandatory side. The harmonious sweet blend of ingredients lends to a great option on nights with a big appetite (or it reheats nicely the next day for a lunch). The deserts are also quite excellent - much better than I would have expected. A big favorite in our house is the Hummingbird cake (banana cake layers soaked with rum syrup, layered with pineapple, cream cheese frosting and garnished with walnuts). The balance of the sweetness in well managed without becoming fatiguing and the walnuts add an important textural dimension.

We can't wait to visit in person once things go back to normal. In the interim, I highly recommend you give them a try. Delivery well my friends.

I love Urban Plates so much for a quality healthy meal without the hassle of going to a resturant and paying a crazy price. I could eat here all day, every day! Their sides are the BEST and makes me want to eat better. Aside from the great mashed potatoes and mac n cheese, they have great vegetable side options that I tend to choose. Then whatever protein I'm feeling that day, I'll have. I've gotten the salmon, pork, and chicken.. can't complain on any of them!

This location in Montgomery Mall is especially nice because of the head chef/owner (?) I can't exactly tell who he is title wise but he's always happy to come around and ask customers how their meal was from what I noticed and if there's anything else he can do. Very kind and his warmth is great for returning customers!

ALSO THIS PLACE IS SO CLEAN. Even pre-covid they had their cleanliness down from the dining area to bathroom and it makes me feel even better dining in during covid.
