CBM Professional (Virtual) Education Event: The ABCs of Estate Planning on 10/22

PROFESSIONAL (VIRTUAL) EDUCATION EVENT: "The ABCs of Estate Planning: A Wise Way to Live"

DATE AND TIME: Thursday, October 22, 11 am - 12 pm EST

REGISTRATION: Click here to register. (Note that this is a virtual event. Instructions for how to participate will be emailed to you before the meeting.)

  EVENT DESCRIPTION

Despite common misperceptions, estate planning is not just for the rich. Everyone should invest in this process to manage their personal affairs. In the event that something unexpected or unfortunate occurs, your loved ones—family members and others—can be taken care of as you would like when you have a plan in place.

  • What is probate?
  • What does it mean to die intestate?
  • Do you need to have a trust and what options are available to you?
  • What are the impacts of the SECURE Act on your estate planning decisions?

These and many other questions and tips will be discussed in an hour-long professional education session.

Members of CBM’s financial planning team, Judy Barnhard, CPA, CFP®, CDFA® and Alex Seleznev, MBA, CFP®, CFA will take you through the ABCs of estate planning—which will be helpful no matter the current size of your estate. Judy and Alex will help you understand areas to navigate in the development of an estate plan including a will, health care directive, power of attorney and other critical documents.

They will be joined by panelists Gail Halpern, CPA and Thomas Burton, CPA, two of the firm’s estate and trust tax senior advisors, for an “ask the expert” session at the end of the presentation.

Please consider joining us on Thursday, October 22 from 11 am to 12 pm EST for a session about estate planning that will empower you to make informed decisions about your estate and how you would like your assets managed should you be unable to.
