Emily Vaias, has been re-elected to serve a second term as Business Co-Chair of the Bethesda Downtown Implementation Advisory Committee. The Committee is composed of 14 members appointed by the Montgomery County Planning Board to monitor and coordinate the progress of development in Downtown Bethesda. The Committee provides advice and guidance to the Planning Board, County Executive and the County Council regarding implementation of the Adopted Bethesda Downtown Sector Plan. Ms. Vaias is also serving as Co-Chair of the Washington ULI Regional Competitiveness Council. The mission of the Council is to identify areas of shared interests among the region’s governmental jurisdictions, business leaders and organizations while encouraging the region to be intentional, intelligent and holistic in its response to opportunities and challenges in sustaining a thriving region. The Council focuses on issues such as innovative technologies, transportation, infrastructure, incentives, policies, competitive advantages, education, energy, and the environment.
