BTS, which helps manage traffic in downtown Bethesda by marketing local, state and federal commuter benefits programs and tax incentives to employers and local residents, is led by an 11-member Board. The Transportation Management District Advisory Board includes representatives from Bethesda business and residential communities and works with BTS to advise and assist Bethesda and the Montgomery County Department of Transportation in addressing local traffic concerns. Matt, a Bethesda resident and CPA with Bethesda-based GRF CPAs and Advisors, focuses on using alternate modes of transportation and lives a car-free lifestyle, walking or riding his bike to work or using public transportation. "I have valued my time on the BTS Advisory Committee and am happy to continue to serve the Board in my new role as Chair," said Matt. "I look forward to continuing to help Bethesda promote sustainable commuting alternatives in these rapidly changing times." As Matt assumes the role, BTS and the Advisory Committee thank Deirdre K. Robinson for her tenure as Board Chair and her commitment to promoting and supporting alternate transportation in downtown Bethesda. Meetings of the Advisory Committee are open to the public. Drawn from the business and residential communities in and around Bethesda, it serves to advise and assist BUP and the Montgomery County Department of Transportation in addressing local traffic concerns and help the community by: Recommending government, private or joint actions necessary to facilitate the attainment of the commuting goals specified in the Bethesda Sector Plan; Advising on parking policies; and, Reviewing traffic patterns and control measures in the Bethesda TMD and vicinity as they relate to transportation demand management, including any relevant issues relating to parking and pedestrian safety. ###
