PROFESSIONAL TRAINING: Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional Training The Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) training program is a national initiative developed to recognize excellence in the not-for-profit industry through comprehensive qualification, training and examination. The program is sponsored by NonprofitCPAs, a nation-wide association of accounting firms that works with not-for-profit organizations. Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell P.C. is the only Washington, DC-area firm eligible to lead the CNAP training. REGISTRATION: Register here. DATE AND TIME: September 22-23, 2020, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM CERTIFIED NONPROFIT ACCOUNTING PROFESSIONAL TRAINING DESCRIPTION: CNAP is a curriculum-based (click here for the curriculum), two-day training program that provides participants with rigorous education and the ability to apply the knowledge they learn against their organization's capacity and develop a clear action plan. Controllers, staff accountants, bookkeepers and other professionals responsible for the oversight of not-for-profit finances (including executive leaders seeking more knowledge and consultants who work with tax-exempt organizations) are invited to register. If available, participants are asked to have their organization's Form 990 and audited financials available to refer to during the course. Professional Education Credit CBM is authorized to offer CPE (Continuing Professional Education) credit to certified public accountants for their participation in CNAP through the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. Association leaders who hold the Certified Association Executive (CAE) accreditation and those pursuing professional education to sit for the CAE exam are also eligible to receive credit.
