Bethesda Cares to host its third annual golf tournament to raise money for individuals experiencing homelessness during Covid-19 Bethesda Cares will be hosting its third annual golf tournament on Friday, October 16th. Hosted at Bretton Woods Rec Center, this event will raise money for Bethesda Cares’ programs to benefit the community of individuals experiencing homelessness through the Covid-19 pandemic. The coronavirus has hit the community of individuals experiencing homelessness particularly hard. With no place to isolate, these individuals are at heightened risk for contracting and spreading the virus. We can come together as a community to support these individuals and keep them safe during this time. Montgomery County has prioritized placing the homeless population in hotels where they can safely isolate. Bethesda Cares’ staff is then working to place these individuals into permanent supportive housing, so they can begin to reintegrate into society. This golf tournament, which begins at 10am, is a way to bring the greater Bethesda community together and help raise the funds necessary to support these individuals in a fun and socially distant way. Tickets are still available if you would like to attend this tournament. You can purchase an individual slot or a foursome at this link: https://bethesdacares.networkforgood.com/events/22024-bethesda-cares-socially-distant-annual-golf-tournament We are so grateful for our sponsors who helped make this tournament possible.
